This is a 10-month fixed term contract, working 2 days a week (14 hours) to cover maternity leave.
The successful applicant will join our Safeguarding Team, which is currently comprised of two Diocesan Safeguarding Advisors (DSAs), a Safeguarding Trainer, a Safeguarding Support Officer and an Independent Sexual Violence Advisor (ISVA).
Working in partnership and collaboratively with our permanent DSA, the successful applicant will work to ensure that best practice safeguarding children, and adults who may be at risk, is observed throughout the diocese.
Shared key responsibilities include:
• Undertaking safeguarding casework on behalf of the Diocese • Ensuring policies, procedures and guidelines are continually reviewed, updated, fully communicated and implemented • Providing advice to the bishop, lay staff, clergy and parishes in safeguarding issues and cases.

• Exercise oversight and control of the Salisbury Diocese Board of Finance (DBF) finances, property and assets, providing leadership on operational management, strategy and policy. • Share in the leadership of the DBF with the other directors and work collaboratively with the other organisations within the diocese. Lead and manage the team responsible for the financial and property assets, fundraising and finances of the DBF. • Supervise and lead the work of the team, working through the team leaders.
